This started with a Telephone call between three insurance professionals who thought to meet outside their offices in a social environment. They have been interacting with each other over phone and discussing business. They thought of meeting face to face outside their office environment and to know understand and interact as they have common concerns. This resulted in a meeting of Mr. Nandu Babur, Mr. Mustafa Vazayil and Mr. S.P Saxena in the then called Indian Sports Club. The meeting was so exciting and relaxing that they thought of meeting regularly. More and more Indian Managers in insurance Industry joined. The Indian connection was kept common Denominator. They then started to have some family events where the families interacted and the whole group evolved as informal Social Group. It grew in strength in leaps and bounds.

During the process a thought evolved to extend the idea industry wide. Keeping the continuity and manageability in mind it was decided to have one event every year where all Insurance Professionals across all insurance companies and all nationalities to network. The members worked very hard and arranged one Dinner party where almost 150 Insurance managers met. The event was so much liked by all that there was general opinion to have such an event annually. Hence the Annual Gala Dinner came into existence. For 25+ years it continued formally. In the year 2018 GIMIC is legalized and formalized.

GIMIC is now organizing members meetings, Family events throughout the year and One Annual Insurance Gala Dinner where insurance professionals and their families not only from UAE but from the whole Gulf Region participate.
